Pasties and pledge night – what a success!

Pasties and pledge night – what a success!

On 30th January 2024 many of Bolton’s businesses came together to enjoy a pastie whilst learning all about the refreshed approach to the Bolton Family.

This event launched the Bolton Family 2024 Pledge Calendar, created connection opportunities for businesses to engage with partner organisations from Bolton’s Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) and Public Sectors to work together and create meaningful social value for Bolton. The event also kickstarted a 12 month social value journey, leading to Bolton’s Fund 5th Birthday in December 2024.

We heard from a range of speakers including;

Jon Dyson – Director of Place at Bolton Council

Dawn Yates-Obe – Chief Executive at Bolton CVS

Hayley Hulme – Managing Director at Starts With You

Becci Martin – Chair of the Bolton Family Social Value Partnership – Business Community

John Dyson said…

The Bolton Family as a social value partnership has such great potential; it gives us the opportunity to come together across all sectors to direct social value investment to our local priorities, build a supportive ecosystem for our local business and social enterprise base and deliver positive outcomes for our communities.

Dawn Yates-Obe implored businesses in attendance to collaborate with the thriving VCSE sector in Bolton and highlighted the Bolton Fund as prime example of where we could work creatively to support our town and its communities.

Also in attendance on the night were a range of partner organisations who are able to support businesses with their social value pledges including; The Real Living Wage Foundation, The GM Good Employment Charter, Proper Good
