As the festive season approaches, the Bolton Family Social Value Partnership is once again rallying together to support local people through three important campaigns:
- Bolton Lions Christmas Toy Appeal
- Backup North West 10 Tin Challenge
- Urban Outreach Christmas Dinner campaign
These initiatives are about more than just gifts or meals — they’re about ensuring that everyone in Bolton feels valued, included, and supported at Christmas.
Why the Toy Appeal Matters
The Bolton Lions Christmas Toy Appeal has long been a lifeline for families, making sure children wake up to presents on Christmas morning. But in recent years, demand has grown significantly, especially among older children and teenagers.
Finding age-appropriate gifts for young people aged 12–16 can be challenging. That’s why this year, we’re focusing on raising £15,000 to provide gift cards. These cards give young people dignity and choice, allowing them to select something meaningful for themselves.
How You Can Help
There are several ways you can get involved and make a difference:
- Donate: Contribute directly through our JustGiving page. Every pound brings us closer to our goal.
- Volunteer: Join us this Saturday at Asda Astley Bridge (12–3pm) for a food donation activity in partnership with Urban Outreach. Please email admin@urbanoutreach.co.uk first to confirm your spot.
- Share: Spread the word about the appeal to friends, colleagues, and networks. Awareness is just as powerful as donations.
