Innovation Meet Collaboration -Up to £9M in funding available to drive real-world impact through business–academic partnerships.

The Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP): 2025–2026 Round 2 is a funding initiative by Innovate UK aimed at fostering collaboration between UK businesses and academic institutions to drive innovation.

Objective:

The primary goal of this programme is to enable UK-registered businesses or not-for-profit organisations to partner with academic institutions—such as higher education (HE) or further education (FE) institutions, research and technology organisations (RTOs), or Catapults—to undertake strategic innovation projects. These projects are facilitated by a KTP associate, who works within the business to apply academic expertise to real-world challenges, thereby enhancing the business’s capabilities and competitiveness.

  • Project Duration: Projects must last between 12 and 36 months.
  • Project Costs: Total eligible project costs are typically £8,500 per month. Innovate UK funds a proportion of the knowledge base partner’s costs, while the business partner covers the remaining eligible costs.
  • Application Deadline: The competition opens on Monday, 14 April 2025, and closes at 11:00 am on Wednesday, 11 June 2025.
